A mock test can reveal where you still depend on instruction. Its value comes from the feedback, not from reproducing a particular route. Real traffic and test directions can differ from practice.

Understand the situation

Ask your instructor to explain the exercise before starting and reduce coaching only where it is safe to do so. Afterwards, separate observation, decision-making and vehicle control. A manoeuvre completed neatly may still need better awareness of people or traffic around it.

Before you practise

A focused practice session

Repeat one difficult situation on a later lesson in a different location. Compare the decisions you made rather than the road names. If the skill transfers to a new setting with less help, the mock assessment has given you useful evidence of progress.

A situation to discuss

A learner may complete a familiar test-centre loop smoothly because every turn is remembered. Give ordinary directions on another suitable route and compare the preparation. If observation becomes late when the next turn is unknown, that is useful feedback about planning. Work on recognising signs and choosing position early. Repeating the remembered loop faster will not necessarily improve the decision process that the second route exposed.
