Document preparation is one of the few parts of test day you can organise well in advance. Use your booking instructions and the current Service NSW requirements as the checklist, because individual circumstances can differ.

Understand the situation

Review the identification, licence and logbook requirements that apply to your booking. Check the appointment location and timing, and ask about anything you do not understand before the day. Keep official instructions accessible without relying on a last-minute search on your phone.

Before you practise

A focused practice session

A few days before the test, put the required items together and walk through the arrival plan. Discuss any unresolved document issue directly with Service NSW. Recheck your appointment details the evening before so your warm-up lesson can focus on driving rather than administration.

A situation to discuss

Suppose your logbook appears complete but a required detail is unclear. Contact the authority with enough time to get an answer; do not assume the warm-up instructor can resolve an administrative issue at the centre. Keep the booking confirmation and the authority's response together. Document preparation is most helpful when it removes uncertainty before the day, leaving your attention available for a safe drive.
